San Francisco is heading in the wrong direction and I'm running to change that. I am a queer, second-generation Vietnamese American, son of refugees, renter, lawyer and drag performer (Juicy&nbsp;Liu). I&rsquo;m not a machine candidate. I&rsquo;m someone who has spent 20 years building power from the margins, not the boardroom.
When I got to SF as a broke, queer 24-year-old I had nothing. However, after landing in an SRO, I was able to find affordable housing and work my way through law school to become a successful tech patent lawyer. I am saddened that if I arrived in this city today, I would not be able to make it here the same way I did nearly 20 years ago. I want to fight for a San Francisco that still welcomes people looking for a home.
