Katie Chan was born and raised in Alhambra, going through the public schools in and around District 4. As a lifelong resident and dedicated public servant, Katie is committed to prioritizing people over profits.
During her time as the chair of the Alhambra Environmental and Sustainability Commission, as a caseworker for LA Councilwoman Eunisses Hernandez, and working at the Public Counsel Law Firm, Katie learned a lot about city government and what good representation can do for a community.
Katie decided to run for city council because she wants to carry on the legacy of progress that Alhambra has been moving towards. Like all of us in District 4, the San Gabriel Valley, and LA County, she believes in and wants to see a city that will fight for affordable housing, net-zero emissions through a Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, and public transit that connects Alhambra District 4 to the rest of Los Angeles County.
