Contributions are not tax deductible. We cannot deposit your payment without your name, street address (no PO boxes), occupation and employer, and cannot accept cash, cashier’s checks, or money orders of $100 or more. Contributions from individuals, lobbyists, businesses, unions are permitted.

 

Contributions from individuals and entities with contracts, licenses, permits, or other entitlements for use pending before the San Jose City Council, and from those who have received a final decision from the San Jose City Council in the previous 12 months, are prohibited. 

 

Contributions from cardrooms, cardroom owners, board members of cardrooms, and any person in a management position (with the power to hire and fire employees) of a cardroom are prohibited.

 

Contributions from foreign nationals and certain foreign owned or controlled businesses are prohibited as follows:

 

1. Business entities which are owned by a single foreign national or foreign entity with a 1 percent or more ownership interest in the business entity.

2. Business entities with two or more foreign owners whose ownership interest is a combined 5 percent or more of the business entity.

3. Business entities whose contribution decisions are made by individuals who include a foreign national.

4. Business entities who are controlled by business entities listed in 1-3 above.
